Week 2: September 7-11, 2015
Lesson 1.1 Orientation: Covered the Acceptable Use Policy (in Handbook) and introduced course. Students logged onto Aspen X2 [last_first22] [ID+00].
Lesson 1.2 Google Tools: Logged onto Google Drive, formatted a Doc, and enrolled in Classroom.
Week 3: September 14-18, 2015
Lesson 1.3 Digital Citizenship: Students learned, practiced, and applied digital citizenship skills using an online program Digital Compass from Common Sense Media.
Lesson 1.4 Digital Citizenship: Students continued the Digital Compass online program.
Week 4: September 21-25, 2015
Lesson 1.5 ILT Pre-Test: Students used Learning.Com to take Part I of the ILT District Pre-Test.
Lesson 1.6 ILT Pre-Test: Students used Learning.Com to take Part II of the ILT District Pre-Test.
Week 5: September 28-October 2, 2015
Lesson 1.7 History and Parts of the Computer: Students create a spreadsheet with a list of key points in communication history--dates and events. After learning the 7 essential computer components, students take apart and identify parts of a computer tower.
Lesson 1.8 Functions of a Computer: Students learn the four functions of a computer and apply to a toaster.
Week 6: October 5-9, 2015
Lesson 1.9 iPad Rules & Regulations: Students will participate in a Grade 7 ILT lesson on iPad Rules & Regulations.
Lesson 1.10 iPad Rules & Regulations: Students will participate in a Grade 7 ILT lesson on iPad Rules & Regulations.
Week 7: October 12-16, 2015
Lesson 1.11 Digital Citizenship: Students will complete a set of 9 online activities to practice skills of digital citizenship--DC Quest.
Lesson 1.12 Digital Citizenship: Students finish DC Quest, and access Unit 1 TOC Study Guide on X2 to review for next week's first assessment.
Week 8: October 19-21, 2015
Lesson 1.13 Unit 1 Assessment: Students will demonstrate their understanding of Unit 1 concepts and skills by answering 11 short answer, multiple-choice and critical thinking questions. This test may be offered electronically as well as in print.
We will begin Unit 2 Library Media Skills October 21-23, 2015.
