Overview of ILT

Information Literacy & Technology  (I.L.T.) is a computer literacy course.  In sixth-grade, students are introduced to basic computer literacy skills such as Digital Citizenship, online safety, etiquette, keyboarding, website evaluation strategies, visual & media literacy, library databases and research skills.  Seated in front of a 1:1 desktop computer, students use technology tools and programs such as Animation-ish, Scratch, Google Docs, Bamboo tablets, iPod Touch, web cams, GlogsterEDU, Encyclopedia Britannica and Discovery Education Streaming to discuss, manage, research, create and publish.

Our curriculum consists of 7 units of study and is aligned to the ISTE-S standards. For a listing of our units of study or for more information about our course, visit my webpage.  The site can also be accessed through the BIS homepage by following Teacher Pages.
